I began painting as a way to escape the demands of everyday life, yet it’s the simplicity of an ordinary moment in time we experience every day that I’m attracted towards capturing in watercolor. I draw on my surroundings along the coasts and mountains of New England for inspiration, studying something as unassuming as shadows cast by trees along the snow or people engaged with their environment. Embracing the fluidity and unpredictable nature of watercolor, I work with a style blending looseness and realism in my paintings.
