Graduating with a BA in art from Northern Illinois University, Janet went on to work as a graphic designer in the commercial art field. Some years later, she began to freelance client work from home, as well as teaching art in private classrooms. Eventually, she returned to focus on her love of painting. Intrigued by color and light in her flower garden, she began to paint flowers in large and small formats. “I focus on the lovely flowing edges, the delicate color and the inner beauty of the flower – bringing the flower to life.”
In addition to local shows, she has been juried into Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Shows in NYC, the National Society of Painters in Casein and Acrylic Show in NYC, and the National Oil and Acrylic Painter’s Society, NOAPS shows. Most recently, she received an “Award of Excellence” from the NOAPS 2022 Online International Spring Show.
