I am a lifelong practicing artist. From the time I was a small child until now, I have loved drawing and painting anything from objects in front of me to trees and animals to people. I often find it easier to draw from photos, since it is a fixed, unmoving scene. That said, I have also enjoyed drawing scenes live. My favorite things to draw are people, as well as settings with trees.
I also like experimenting with different mediums. I’ve gone from pencil/colored pencil to pen and ink, to watercolor, to pastels, to marker and acrylic, as well as pyrography and photography. With each one, I have discovered the ease or difficulty that each presents. The main challenge is to draw without erasing. The ultimate goal is to convey a story with a single picture. Photography is there to capture a fleeting moment in time for keeps. To preserve a memory. Every piece is an experiment. No one picture is exactly like the next. That is the beauty of art. And in the process, to showcase and bring glory to the God of all creation.
